ULMA Packaging Unveils Equipment Line-Up For PPMA
Visitors will be seeing double when they head for ULMA Packaging Ltd at the forthcoming PPMA Show, as the leading packaging machinery and automated lines supplier will be promoting its wide range of equipment from two stands at the NEC in Birmingham.
ULMA will be showcasing a complete automated line, featuring loading, packaging, weighing and labelling, case packing, palletising/de-palletising, internal case and tray transport. Also exhibited will be the latest advances in skin technology, in addition to many other innovative packaging solutions for virtually any requirement in both the food and non-food sectors.
Other equipment to be shown includes the new VTC 740 vertical wrapping machine which incorporates various innovative systems to reduce downtime to a minimum. Extremely flexible, it can change the forming size to allow for different portions and has the versatility to adapt to any film type.
Also on display will be a TSA 680 automatic tray sealer for all types of trays and materials. Designed for integration into medium to high production lines, the TSA 680 can seal MAP, Vacuum and Skin depending on the requirements of the product to be packaged.
Completing ULMA’s line-up at PPMA is the TFS Skin 407 thermoformer and flowrapper. The TFS 407 uses specially designed top films for enhancing the product’s appearance and extending shelf life. It makes a vacuum pack that protects and fits around the product like a second skin, especially suited for fresh and processed meat, fish, poultry, ready meals, cheese and pâtés.
The company is also planning to exhibit the Artic Quad flowrapper, one of the most advanced flowrapping machines on the market. The Artic has been adapted to create an enhanced version of the pillow pack style bag, suitable for a whole chicken so that consumers can pop the cook-in-the-bag chicken into the oven without having to handle the raw poultry.
The company’s UK technical team will also be on hand at the exhibition to answer questions on various advanced skin, film and wrapping technology suitable for fresh food, fruit and vegetables, produce and ready meals as well as household items and medical products.
ULMA’s UK Managing Director, Chris Pickles, said: “We are a leading supplier of packaging machinery and complete production lines and now have an automation division to help clients in the food, pharmaceutical and other related sectors to maximise their packaging solutions.
“Completely automated packaging lines can play an important role in developing competitiveness by driving productivity and innovation - critical cornerstones to future prosperity for corporates and SMEs alike. We are delighted to be attending PPMA where visitors can see for themselves ULMA’s advanced packaging technology and discuss their specific requirements in detail.”
PPMA is the ideal platform for ULMA, which was established in Northern Spain over 50 years ago and is an approved supplier to multiple retailers and others involved in the packaging of a cross-section of products.
